Through a competitive process, AAUW Georgetown awards Jesse Daniel Ames Scholarships and W.D. Kelley Foundation Fellowships to graduating seniors from Georgetown High School, Eastview High School or Richarte High School.
- The Jesse Daniel Ames Scholarship honors the first President of the AAUW Georgetown Branch (founded in 1923) who was also one of ten charter branch members. Funds are raised by branch members through activities like our annual Duck Race. Read more about Jesse Daniel Ames here.
- The W.D. Kelley Foundation Fellows are awarded with funds generously donated for the scholarship program by the W.D. Kelley Foundation. We are honored by our long-term partnership with the W.D. Kelley Foundation on our scholarship program and we appreciate the Foundation’s support for local high school graduates!
The scholarship application is open from January 1 to a date set in February each year and is available to students through their GISD high school website.
The AAUW Georgetown branch has awarded scholarships to GISD graduating seniors annually since 2003.
